It is no secret that Iceland is an expensive country. But, it is all right because nature is free! Moreover, by renting a campervan, you save a lot of money. You also get the freedom to stay as long as you want at each place and the experience of spending time with your loved ones or friends in the wild nature of Iceland is something that is hard to explain, you will just have to try it.

Depending on which camper you rent, you will be able to go pretty much anywhere you would like in Iceland. However, you cannot park your camper wherever you like and call it a night. You will need to park at a camping ground. Some hostels allow you to park on their grounds and landowners as well, but you will have to get permission from them. You can, however, park wherever you want for short stays, just like if you were driving a regular car.

Our campervans are equipped with all the essentials, including the best heaters you find so you will not be cold during the night. There is a kitchenette, a sofa bed, gas stove, duvets and pillows, extra batteries and so much more.

More freedom to travel

By renting a camper, you get the freedom to stay out longer since you do not have to drive to your hotel room after a day of exploring, you just need to go to your camping ground. If you rent a 4×4 camper from us, you can drive on most F-roads in Iceland. The F-roads are the mountain roads in the Icelandic Highlands. They are, however, not open all year round and often in poor condition. We recommend you check road.is, or your included tablet if using a CampEasy camper if you are going to drive on an F-road, but even if it says the road is open, we still recommend caution. The roads can be in very bad shape regardless of them being open so, take care!

You can explore all the most famous places as well as the more obscure ones without trouble.

And you save money!

To return to money, renting a camper saves money on hotels or guesthouses around the country. Since sleeping in a camper van is a little bit like sleeping in a tent (but still nothing like it), you are more likely to shop for all your food in supermarkets instead of restaurants.

The supermarkets Bónus and Krónan are the cheapest stores in Iceland. Nettó is a close third. If you have a Costco membership, you should be able to shop in the Costco shop in Garðabær.

The cost of renting a hotel room or any other accommodation in Iceland is high. However, of course, there are certain comforts in hotels and guesthouses you do not get when traveling in a campervan. In our opinion, you get so much more in return. The only things you need to look out for are toilets and showers since there are none in our campers. And if you are going off the beaten path, you can rent a travel toilet with CampEasy.

What are you waiting for?

We have a few different types of campers. They vary in size (accommodate 2-5 people), are either 2×4 or 4×4 and manual or automatic. All our campers have unlimited mileage; we just ask you to return it with a full tank of diesel. All insurance is included in the price of the rental, and there are quite a few extras you can add to your rental such as Wi-Fi, an acoustic guitar, a baby seat, Bluetooth speakers and so much more.
