The Húsafell area includes a golf course, several hiking trails, and a campfire lit every Saturday at 9 pm (weather depending). The Húsafell campsite rents out volleyball, soccer, basketball, and block games at the campground. Dining

The campsite provides a barbeque area with an indoor prep area. Campers can also use it for dining, although seating is limited. Hotel Húsafel is right next door and includes a restaurant and a bistro. The campsite also runs a store that sells all necessities and some food.

Seasonal options

The bistro is only open during the summer, although they offer coffee and cakes between 11:30 am and 3:00 pm in the winter.

Rules and regulations

Húsafell is a family-friendly campsite and fosters an environment that caters to families. There are several rules that the owners ask campers to adhere to:

  • A guardian should always accompany children and teenagers, and any entertainment campers engage in should be suitable for all ages.

  • Keep the environment clean. Throw all trash in rubbish bins located in the parking areas.

  • Show consideration for other guests and keep all noise to a minimum between midnight and 9:00 am.

  • Don’t light an open fire in the area or a disposable barbecue on the ground. It will catch fire.

  • All dogs should be kept on a leash and cleaned after.

  • Don’t drive off-road and keep a maximum speed of 20 kph. No off-road bikes are allowed in the area.
