The Vestmannaeyjar or Westman Islands in English, are an archipelago of 15 islands. The largest one, Heimaey is the only one inhabited and most of the people live in the main town called Vestmannaeyjabær. There was a volcanic eruption in 1973. As a result, Heimaey increased its pre-eruption area by 20%. It is located just off the south coast of Iceland, there are 2 ways to get there: by ferry or by plane. The ferry from the port Landeyjarhöfn (in summer dependent on good weather and waves) which takes 35 minutes or Þorlákshöfn (in winter and worse weather conditions and waves) which takes 3 hours.

“We are really proud about our island, our nature and history and love to share our love of the island with you
We at Ribsafari are islanders at heart and most of us have lived and worked in Westman islands (Vestmannaeyjar) all our lives.
Since we were children we have been going on trips on RIB boats and visited the islands all surrounding the main island Heimaey.
We are extremely proud of our beautiful islands. And of course we want you to experience them as a local.
Join us in terrific trips sailing around the islands, we will introduce the islands to you and the life we live here”
