Designed by the architect Ingimundur Sveinsson, Perlan has an intriguing structure. It is built on top of six hot water storage tanks, four of which are still used to store hot water. Two of them now host two of the most exciting parts of the Wonders of Iceland exhibition to witness the unique nature of Iceland. Visitors are invited to marvel at the Ice Cave and the Planetarium.
The Ice Cave is the first of its kind in the world. It is 100 meters long, built with over 350 tons of snow from the Icelandic Mountains. As guests wander through the Ice Cave, they experience a glacial environment in a safe and informative way. At the planetarium, you can get a new perspective on the world from outer space and see scientific wonders such as the Northern Lights. Experience the sky and the northern lights in a unique way.
